CMHA Nipissing volunteers play a crucial role in our organization and our community. Without the dedication of volunteers, many programs offered by our branch would not be possible.
That’s why from April 7-13, CMHA Nipissing joins organizations across the country in celebrating Canada’s 12.7 million volunteers during National Volunteer Week.
Volunteering can take many forms. At CMHAs across the country, volunteers are found working on special projects or programs, within fundraising activities such as Ride Don’t Hide, or serving on local boards. All of these activities help improve quality of life for individuals and families who are affected by mental health issues.
At CMHA Nipissing, volunteers help by spending quality time in our Social Rehabilitation and Recreation service teaching valuable life skills including cooking, laundry, shopping on a budget, etc. They also engage in social activities such as arts and crafts projects, playing board games/cards, and engaging in conversation with members. Our volunteers come with a diverse skill set and are eager to learn and grow.
From all of us at CMHA Nipissing, thank you to the amazing volunteers we work with every day. We truly appreciate your dedication in helping us work towards good mental health for all.
